JAKARTA – PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk (ticker: BNII) delivered solid financial results throughout 2025, posting a net profit of Rp1.70 trillion. The figure jumped 42.01% year-on-year (YoY) compared with Rp1.19 trillion recorded in 2024.
According to the bank’s published financial statement, interest income rose 1.07% YoY to Rp13.19 trillion. Meanwhile, interest expenses edged up 0.40% YoY to Rp5.74 trillion. As a result, net interest income (NII) reached Rp7.45 trillion, reflecting a 1.60% increase from Rp7.34 trillion a year earlier.
Operational efficiency also improved during the year. Operating expenses declined 7.24% YoY to Rp5.33 trillion from Rp5.75 trillion in 2024. The decrease was partly driven by a 33.27% drop in promotional expenses, which fell to Rp110.26 billion from Rp165.22 billion previously.
In addition, impairment losses on financial assets decreased 29.10% YoY to Rp960.15 billion. The lower cost burden supported operating profit growth of 33.63% YoY to Rp2.12 trillion, compared with Rp1.58 trillion in the previous year. Non-operating income surged 755.37% YoY to Rp99.84 billion.
However, lending performance slightly contracted. Total loans declined 2.83% YoY to Rp93.12 trillion. Third-party funds (DPK) also slipped 2.36% YoY to Rp116.19 trillion, mainly due to a 12.08% drop in time deposits to Rp49.32 trillion and a 3.33% decrease in savings to Rp22.52 trillion.
From a capital standpoint, the capital adequacy ratio (CAR/KPMM) improved to 27.31% from 25.55% in 2024. Asset quality strengthened, with gross non-performing loans (NPL) falling to 2.17% from 2.68%, and net NPL easing to 1.31% from 1.42%. Meanwhile, net interest margin (NIM) slightly declined to 4.31% from 4.37%.
President Director Steffano Ridwan said 2025 marked a pivotal year for reinforcing profitability and strengthening the bank’s fundamentals amid market uncertainty. The company focused on improving revenue quality, maintaining cost discipline, optimizing funding structure, and strengthening risk management.
As one of the home markets within the Maybank Group, Maybank Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to delivering customer-centric financial solutions, sustaining disciplined growth, and creating long-term value.(***)
